Understanding the Cloudera Data Services on premises upgrade process
using OpenShift Container Platform
Upgrading Cloudera Data Services on premises requires coordinating
updates with the corresponding OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) version
upgrades.
All upgrades to Cloudera Data Services on premises 1.5.5 SP4 release
must use a minimum version of OpenShift Container Platform4.17. Intermediate OpenShift Container Platform versions are tested with existing workloads,
but Cloudera recommends selecting a
supported pvc-ocp version for a given Cloudera Data Services on premises release based on the Cloudera Support Matrix.
Upgrading Cloudera Data Services on premises 1.5.5 or 1.5.5 SP2
or 1.5.5 SP2 CHF1 or 1.5.5 SP3 to 1.5.5 SP4
Starting point: Cloudera Data Services on premises 1.5.5 or 1.5.5

Update Cloudera Data Services on premises from

Perform post-upgrade validations of existing resources and workloads.
Upgrade OpenShift Container Platform from 4.17 or 4.18

Perform validations on all data services to verify that the new and
preexisting data and workloads continue to function properly.
