What's new in Edge Flow Manager
Edge Flow Manager allows you to manage, control, and monitor agents that are deployed on edge devices in IoT implementations. You can use these agents to collect real-time data from the devices to create and push actionable intelligence and insights directly to the data's origin.
Edge Flow Manager 2.3.0.0 introduces new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes, including:
- Agent Property Synchronization
-
Edge Flow Manager now tracks customized agent properties, ensuring seamless synchronization of customized agent properties across deployments. After an agent property is applied and a new agent is deployed (or an offline agent returns online) the customized property is automatically updated on the agent.
- Agent-Level Parameter Management
-
You can now configure parameters for individual agents within a class, overriding flow parameters at the agent level. This option provides greater flexibility and precision in managing parameters for specific agents.
For more information, see Managing agent parameters using the UI in Cloudera Edge Management
- Monitoring View for Flows
-
The flow monitoring view in the Flow Designer provides a dedicated interface for observing and debugging running flows in Cloudera Edge Management. You get near real-time visibility into the behavior of processors, queues, and connections, enabling you to identify potential bottlenecks and optimize flow performance.
For details, see Monitoring view for flows in Edge Flow Manager user interface.
- Enhanced Alert Notifications in Monitoring Deployments
-
A new visual indicator has been introduced: an orange dot next to the status icon. This indicates that alerts are associated with the agent class.
The new Certification Expiry Notification shows you that an Agent Class contains agents with expiring certification within 30 days. For details, see Monitoring deployments in Cloudera Edge Management.
- Monitoring Events
-
Filtering has been improved on the Edge Events screen.
For details, see Sorting and filtering in Monitoring events in Cloudera Edge Management.
